Marjorie Sirridge was the Director of the Sirridge Office of Medical Humanities from1992-2004. She and her husband endowed the office in 1992. She is a former Assistant Dean for Curriculum and former Dean of the School of Medicine. She plans and teaches at least three month-long required courses in medical humanities yearly and co-teaches in several undergraduate courses related to medicine or humanities at the University. She also participates in teaching hematology, ethics, and history of medicine at the medical school. Her specialty in medicine was hematology; she has many publications in that area including a book entitled Laboratory Evaluation of Hemostasis and Thrombosis (three editions). Dr. Sirridge has been active in women's issues and is an adjunct faculty member in the section of Women and Gender Studies in the College of Arts and Sciences. For the last five years she has been seeking out autobiographies of women physicians and has helped to compile a comprehensive bibliography.
