Therese Jones holds a doctorate in English and completed a three-year postdoctoral fellowship in medical humanities. Her current position is Director, Arts and Humanities in Healthcare Program in the Center for Bioethics and Humanities at the University of Colorado, Denver on the Anschutz Medical Campus. She has been teaching, presenting papers and publishing on medical humanities and cultural studies since 1992. She is the editor of the Journal of Medical Humanities, a publication of Springer.
Publications include Sharing the Delirium: Second Generation AIDS Plays and Performances; "The Medium is the Message: Documenting the Story of Dax Cowart," "As the World Turns on the Sick and the Restless, So Go the Days of Our Lives: Family and Illness in Daytime Drama," "AIDS on the World Stage," and "The Consolation of Sisterhood: Women, Writing and HIV/AIDS." She served as Treasurer for the American Society of Bioethics and Humanities from 2004-2007 and is chair of the "Visual Arts and Cultural Representations" affinity group. She is also a member of the Modern Language Association, the Association of Theatre in Higher Education, and the Society for Cinema Studies.
